28th | Cath Finn | A talk on ‘Youth Matters New Mills’ which is not a profit organisation that provides free activities for young people and their families. |
August 2022 11th | 2ND LT PHIL BARLOW | It is a talk on New Mills Army Cadets and their proposed exercise in Cyprus with the U.N. Peace-keeping Force. |
25th | Simon Michael | He is a barrister who turned to being a successful author of crime novels. He lives in Mellor. He has written six books which can be found on amazon. It is hoped this will appeal to friends outside Rotary, so please ask them to lunch. He will have some of his books to sign. |
September 2022 8th | Tony Beckett | The district youth chairman, Tony Beckett, will talk about the district projects involving young people and suggest how we might get involved, possibly jointly with other local rotary clubs . I hope our assistant governor will get people from our cluster of clubs to come on that day and make Tony Beckett’s visit worthwhile. |
22nd | Laura Green | A talk on “Birthday Bank” that provides free birthday bags for children in families struggling to buy enough food and celebrate birthdays in the usual way. |
We welcome all visitors at Marple Golf Club at 12 noon for 12.30 on Thursdays. All meetings finish by 2pm. There is no cost but you need to pay for a meal or snack at the bar on the day. If you plan to come, it would help if you email us to nmdrotary@gmail.com at least a day in advance.
