Rita Pollard's Presidential Address

We’ve all taken our own path to become a member of Rotary. Some of us joined because a member of our family was a Rotarian. Some of us signed up because a friend of us tapped us on the shoulder and asked us to attend a meeting. And some of us became members for our own reasons. Yet each of us entered through one mechanism — an invitation. An invitation that unlocks our imaginations and allows us to know that everything and anything is possible. Each one of us has that same opportunity — the honour to extend an invitation.

Personally, I received this invitation about 30 years ago and true to the invitation I held various posts both within the club and the wider Rotary organisation. Joining Rotary is a vocation that extends an invitation to make the world a better place to live in through rotary fellowship and service. As Rotary takes its next step in advancing Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) across our organization, I extend my warm invitation to YOU join us to experience the warmth of friendship and service.
